Life Outside The Screen with Smino
As a musician who is always on the go from city to city, show to show, it’s important for anyone with that type of demanding schedule to stay grounded, stay connected and carve out time to reset and recharge. As Smino puts it, “I give my fans 1000% of me–I love them–but at the end of the day I’ve got to detach. I just try to focus on something else; just anything that’s not a screen in your face.” We live in a world full of distractions, and they can come from every angle, so being able to turn off and shut down when you can helps you not only focus on what’s important, but helps to keep you on your game. “When I want to get in the zone for a show, I just try to get quiet, I try to make my brain quiet. By the time I get on stage, nothing is quiet.” Having that time to disconnect without any distractions from his devices is the best way Smino can prepare for his shows.

Home Turf Seattle
Home Turf: Episode One - Community | Official [HD]
When you think of soccer in Seattle, what do you see? On the first episode of Home Turf, we look at three different relationships to the game and the Sounders. What does it look like for the sport we love to also be a community? And how different does that look if you grew up in Seattle, or moved here from around the world? WIDE Creative is pleased to present Home Turf, a miniseries covering the intersection of community and club, Seattle and soccer. Bring you the stories around the game, we'll explore the people, places, and culture that shape Seattle and the Sounders. Here in Seattle, all roads lead to the Sounders. Home Turf: Episode Two - Homegrown: The Kid From White Center | Official [HD]
To succeed in life and in professional sports, it takes more than just skill - it takes commitment, and it takes character. In the second episode of Home Turf, we go below the surface with Danny Robles, and learn about how his family and the community he grew up in helped shape him into the player he is today. Danny is on the long road to being a successful professional, joining the Sounders Academy and now playing for the Tacoma Defiance. His eyes are set on the prize: signing with the first team, and playing in Century Link Field. Today, we learn about what has brought him to where he is, and what motivates him to keep on pushing.
